As of this morning, the Reply-To: [your-email] is not functioning. Emails come in from our sending email address ([email protected]), which is authenticated via WP Mail SMTP, but the “Reply To” header just isn’t there on the message when it is received.

Was there some sort of bug that started this morning? I didn’t make any changes.

Where can we see the website in question?

I am also having this issue. The first time it was picked up was on the 1st of August.

    Same issue here.

The “Reply-To” in the Additional headers field in CF7 is now being ignored (stripped out?) by the WP Mail SMTP plugin and not included in the sent email.

I do not think it’s WP Mail SMTP plugin. I’m using WPO365 Mail Integration for SMTP and this is happening to my sites as well.

It’s happening for all the forms on our website. An example is this one:

    Hi,

We are having the same issue with our client’s site.

The Reply-To: [your-email] email header is no longer working as expected. When we hit reply it defaults to the ‘From’ address which is a noreply@ email.

We are using CF7 Version 5.9.8 with WPSMTP Version 4.1.0.

This is a great plugin – keep up the amazing work!

Quick update – I have managed to fix the issue.

I was using the new SMTP2GO API integration with WP SMTP. I changed this back to ‘Other SMTP’ and use SMTP2GO’s SMTP credentials instead.

The Reply-To header now works as normal.

    I hope this is helpful.

It seems that the problem is not with CF7 or WP Mail SMTP, I have checked the logs of the emails I have been sending and the plugin does indeed send the “Reply-To” header, for some reason unknown to us Microsoft 365 has been removing them for a few days now: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/exchange/reply-to-header-being-stripped-in-office-365-emails/m-p/4213699

    See Setting up mail

What email settings do you have in the Mail tab panel?

To protect personal data, hiding email addresses in the settings or replacing them with dummy addresses is strongly advised. You can also include screenshots.

Within WP Mail SMTP plug in, i switched from 365/Outlook (free/included) to SendLayer ($180/year) and seems to be working fine for now.
