• NEW PLUGIN REQUEST

As much as I love the fact that no comment spam has ever been successfully posted to my wordpress blog, I’d love to see a more proactive approach to the problem. With email spam, you can look up the offending ip address (whois) and contact the person responsible for it (usually the tech person at the isp, if I’m not mistaken). Is there any reason that can’t be done for comment spam?

Put me down for at least $20 to the developer who makes a plugin to automatically send that email with the appropriate log info included (maybe a link in the akismet queue, completely automated might be problematic for false alarms).

That way, rather than grumbling in angst when I get comment emails from wordpress for some stupid, nebulous prescription drug, I can cackle sinisterly and enjoy my revenge on those unwitting nincompoops that dare spam my comments. Okay, so maybe I got a little carried away with that last bit. Still, I bet other people would pay good money to fight the good fight.
