Reported bug, wanted me to buy more support

I’ve been a user of this product for almost a year now. I am extremely happy with it and it works very well with my site. However when your support is out, you are on your own… You can’t even submit bugs!
‘I discovered a bug where a customer in the US was ordering accidently selected “US Minor Outlaying Islands” instead of “United States” they got free shipping. I am using a US Postal Service live shipping calculator.’
I submitted this bug with a screenshot of the order (with customer’s data obfuscated), and they said I contacted sales (using “the bug report form”) and I would need to go through premium support.
