    Hi!

    I’m not sure about the wheabouts of this bug, but just in case, I come here to report it.

    I noticed that on a wordpress blog using wp-discuz, when I wanted to submit a comment containing
    <img src="https://i.imgur.com/OVre3hg.gif" />
    the comment was successfully posted… but the entire html was removed.

    I did a second test, with a line of text, and then, again, the img src – same deal, the text remained this time, but not the img src html.

    Third attempt, while on the blog post with my blank comment, I clicked to edit the comment, submitted it again – once again, nothing.

    Fourth attempt, log in as admin, open edit-comments.php, and only there, could I finally submit that html and see it stay.

    I have no idea if this is intentional, possible to reproduce, or a full straight bug.

    Let me say it again, it’s not a plea for help, just a bug report. And, no, I can’t disclose the blog where I had it, sorry, private community.

    Cheers, have a nice day!

    Just in case, I asked another person for a confirmation, and, yeah, it’s not just my admin username, another “simple visitor” status person had it too.

    Hi @sabinooo,

    Please note wpDiscuz doesn’t allow to insert HTML tags in the comment section. Just insert the URL and it’ll automatically convert the link to the image if the “Enable automatic image URL to image HTML conversion” option is enabled.

    More info here: https://wpdiscuz.com/docs/wpdiscuz-documentation/settings/comment-form/#image-embed

    Ah?

    I think that was working before, wasn’t it? O_o

    I mean, this is a handy feature, to use html in comments.

    But more importantly, auto-conversion poses a problem in my eyes. If auto-conversion is allowed, I am not allowed anymore to share image links at all, every webserver configured to refuse hotlinking will return an error, no?
