The report shows some links as “not found”. They are all of the same type :

    https://url/authorfirstname%20Authorlast name.

But when I go on the incriminated page these links do no appear. Same when I search in the code of the page.

What should I do with these links and where do they come from. False positives ?

I hope you are doing well today!

We can check further if you can provide the full URL.

    Kind regards,

Which Url do you need ? The aricle where the link is supposed to be ? The target url ?

    Hi @bduperrin,

Yes, we’ll need both. ie we’ll need the link to one of the page URLs where the broken links are reported. It would also be helpful if you could mention which are the 404 URLs that were reported on those pages so that we could take a closer look.

Could we know whether you are using the Local or the Cloud version of the BLC plugin?

    Looking forward to your response.

    Regards,

    Nithin

    So here’s one example.

    On this post : https://www.duperrin.com/2025/02/14/linkedin-hygiene/

The plugin reports that there is a link to https://www.duperrin.com/2025/02/14/linkedin-hygiene/Bertrand%20Duperrin with status “404 Not found”.

    I’m using the cloud version.

    Hello @bduperrin

I have reviewed your shared page and noticed the “Bertrand Duperrin” is used for an element href attribute and it is detected as a link, in general, you need to put a link in the href attribute but you can also use a relative path.

The href attribute is intended to specify the URL of the page the link goes to. In your example, “Bertrand Duperrin” is used as the href value, which is not a valid URL.

To fix this issue you need to update the URL, I can see the same element used on some of your page and detected by BLC, please note that BLC may not be able to automatically update that link since it has some limitations for the link editor.

    Kind Regards,
    Amin
