This is for a month-old site, running WooCommerce. The site is functioning normally – sales are coming in with no issues. This site doesn’t use any form of online payment – it’s taking orders that are intended for off-line payment (mailed checks or over the phone credit cards). Using a relabeled “Pay by Invoice” gateway. I have enabled On Hold emails to inform the seller of new orders coming in, as the New Orders received emails will never send because of the lack of a completed payment.

Everything in the old Reports section (WooCommerce > Reports) works just fine. There’s a notice that appears that this section has been replaced with the new Analytics section. My concern is that the new Analytics section isn’t working quite right, specifically on the Analytics > Overview page.

The problem is that the overview page does not provide the sales numbers. It’s showing “No data for the selected date range” in the Net Sales and Orders boxes, but does show data in the Top Categories and Top Products Items Sold boxes. The Analytics > Categories page does show Net Sales, and all other sales info (such as specific products, categories, etc.)

Is this a known issue, that the Overview page only counts completed payments? It’s odd because it does count the sales on other pages, just not the overview page.

    Here’s the overview page:

    and here’s the categories page:

Any ideas how to fix the Overview data?

  • Hi @aumw-jay,

From your description, it seems like the issue lies within the Analytics > Overview page of your WooCommerce site.

As your site operates on offline payments, it’s possible that these transactions are not being marked as completed, hence not appearing in the overview.

Could you please confirm if the orders placed are manually marked as completed from your dashboard?

No – the client is not marking orders as completed. It’s a very low tech company, and only gets the emails, they never do anything on the website.

In any case your suggestion makes no sense – as data <span style=”text-decoration: underline;”>is</span> displayed correctly on the Categories and other pages- it only the overview page that does not work correctly.

This isn’t really about my customer – they don’t care about these reports. I’m pointing this out because I believe it’s a bug, and probably something that should be fixed for other users.

I think the old way of fixing this was one to go and disable the app @aumw-jay and then enable it again. Second go to permalinks and click save. It happened a lot when first introduced and that was the fix 3 years ago or so. I can’t remember exactly. If I come across it though I’ll let you know.

It’s not a bug per se. It just happens due to other things in play.

I assume you meant WooCommerce when you said “disable the app”. I just tried your suggestion, and that didn’t change anything on the overview page. Thanks, though.

Yes. It is the app in question no?

Permalinks? Did you do that as well? Clear your own browser cache as well?

    Hi there,

I understand that you are having trouble with the Analytics Overview page. This is not a known issue, and the Overview page should count all orders regardless of their payment status. However, there are a few possible reasons why you might see No data for the selected date range on the Overview page:

    • The Analytics data might not be up to date. You can try clearing the Analytics cache by going to WooCommerce > Status > Tools > Clear analytics cache > Click Clear. Then check again the Analytics report.
    • There might be a conflict with another plugin that is affecting the Analytics functionality. You can try deactivating all other plugins except WooCommerce. Then check again the Analytics report. If the issue is resolved, you can reactivate the plugins one by one to find the source of the conflict.
    • There might be a problem with the scheduled actions that import the order data into the Analytics tables. You can check under WooCommerce > Status > Scheduled Actions to see if any actions are pending or failed. If there are any, you can try running them manually or deleting them and letting them regenerate.

Please give it a try and let us know how it goes.

    Have a great day!

I made a quick duplicate of the site in a staging environment. I cleared the Analytics cache as suggested. I verified that the problem still existed on the duplicated site.

I then deactivated all plugins except for WooCommerce, cleared the cache again – and the problem still exists. I’ve also cleared my browser cache. Same if I change the theme to 2023. The data in the duplicated site appears to be exactly the same as the live site. There were some pending actions, none were for woo. There were some failed actions, but again, none were for woo.

Also, I hadn’t checked before, but these pages are not showing any data: Overview, Revenue, Orders, Variations.

These pages ARE displaying good data: Products, Categories. We’re not using any Coupons, and don’t collect taxes.

Could you please share a copy of your site’s System Status report? You can access it via WooCommerce > Status. Select ‘Get system report’ and then ‘Copy for support’ (found after scrolling down a bit). Please paste it here in your reply or through a text-sharing service like https://gist.github.com/.

Additionally, navigate to WooCommerce → Analytics → Settings and check the following:

    • The ‘exclude order status’ settings: Any order status listed there won’t be included in the analytics reports.
    • Navigate to the bottom of the page and try to delete, then re-import historical data.

Look forward to hearing back from you.
