Repositioning my “Permalink” link

Have a look at the link entries on this blog. You’ll notice that there is a “#” link after every entry. (This is the permalink.) I would like to reposition that link to be inline with the last line of text in the entry (instead of being on it’s own line.) My problem seems to be that when the_content() is output, it adds a return so that anything after it is on the next line. How would I go about changing this?
