• Hi,

I am using Mailpoet to notify subscribed users about new blog posts. Everything works fine with new articles, but “republished” articles seem to be ignored. Articles are republished using the feature added by the Yoast Duplicate Post plugin, and both the publication date and the original article title are modified during republishing. The strange thing is that in the email preview, the article is displayed, but the republishing does not seem to trigger the notification to be sent.

    Am I doing something wrong?

    Hello there @lucamc ,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

Based on the details you’ve provided, it appears that the republished articles, modified using the Yoast Duplicate Post plugin, aren’t triggering notifications as expected. Even though you’re seeing the republished article in the email preview, the process of republishing doesn’t seem to activate the sending of the notification.

One plausible explanation for this behavior is that the Yoast Duplicate Post plugin might not alter the original post’s metadata in a way that MailPoet’s post notification system can identify it as a new post. The MailPoet post notification widget specifically looks for new content based on certain criteria, and if the metadata remains unchanged, it may not recognize the republished content as “new.”

To help us determine if this is the issue, could you please try an alternative method of posting? Instead of republishing an article, try creating it as a fresh post by navigating to WPAdmin > Posts > Add New Post. After posting, observe if MailPoet triggers the notification for this newly created article.

By testing this method, we can pinpoint whether the issue lies in the way republished posts are recognized by MailPoet.

Should you need further assistance or have any more questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us.
