    Hi,

I do have a request which might improve your plugin: As I’m not a fan of using to many plugins I don’t want to install “WP Media Folder” (and your extension for it). However I would love to stay a bit more organized. I’m already using the standard folders in your Lightroom publishing service.

Would it be possible to select one of the WordPress fields (Alt. Text, Description, Caption…) to fill it with the foldername from the Lightroom hierarchy…

Thanks for your thought on this.

    Cheers,

    Oliver

    Hello again Oliver,

I am not a big fan of using too many plugins neither. When you mean folder name, what is it exactly? The name of the collection you added this photo to? How it would help you actually? WP Media Folder is very different from that (it doesn’t do this at all I believe). Maybe I didn’t got exactly what you meant?

    Hi ??

Yes, you’re right! Sorry for the confustion: I’m talking about “Lightroom Collections”.

It would be great if I could assign this information during the publishing process to one of the wordpress fields. So if the Collection is called “Vacation 2015” I would like to assign this information to the “Description”.

It should actually follow the same logic like keywords in your plugin.

I hope this makes it clearer.

    Cheers,

    Oliver

I see what you mean Oliver! Right now the choice is very limited. Actually, the choices I give to the users now are the same as the Flickr Service. I thought it could be enough at first ??

However, many users asked me for different things which would make this selection box huge ?? I need to make a template system. For example, in your case, you would select “Custom” and type something like “%collection%”. Would that be good enough?

Keywords are a bit different though since the whole hierarchy is written. For the collection, only the collection this image belongs to would be written, right?

That would be the perfect solution. I guess many users don’t need to many options, so for a plugin author it’s important to have a straight forward solution that does the basics “out of the box”.

But having some kind of “advanced-options-section” is always great to also support the needs of additional users. Personally I could even live with some kind of config-file for a start, so you wouldn’t need to build an interface for this.

Btw: I now tested your WP Media Folder extension and it works great! I wanted to write a review for it, but it’s just working without an issue so I don’t know what to say ??

    Cheers,

    Oliver

I wouldn’t let my users write their options in a config file, that would be too painful for most of them ?? But I agree with yours, I’d like to start to do this for the extensions. It’s simple, it could be a new sub-menu in WP/LR Sync menu in WP like “Basic Posts” then the options would appear. I think it would be great.

Haha, don’t hesitate to add a review, even though it’s short! Just say your felling, it’s the best! Here: https://www.ads-software.com/support/view/plugin-reviews/wplr-sync

And of course if you can one more here: https://www.ads-software.com/support/view/plugin-reviews/wplr-media-folder. That would be awesome since there is no review yet. People might think it is not working and nobody is using it ??

    Have a nice week-end soon!!!
