    Recently we encountered an error when trying to insert a post during newsletter creation. Please see pasted error

    Request error not JSON:<!DOCTYPE html>
    <html style="height:100%">
    <head><title> 403 Forbidden

    </title></head>
    <body style="color: #444; margin:0;font: normal 14px/20px Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; height:100%; background-color: #fff;">
    <div style="height:auto; min-height:100%; ">     <div style="text-align: center; width:800px; margin-left: -400px; position:absolute; top: 30%; left:50%;">
           <h1 style="margin:0; font-size:150px; line-height:150px; font-weight:bold;">403</h1>
    <h2 style="margin-top:20px;font-size: 30px;">Forbidden

    </h2>
    <p>Access to this resource on the server is denied!</p>
    </div></div></body></html>

    So we updated WordPress and Mailpoet to the latest versions. Now when we tried to insert post in the newsletter, the popup page with the list of posts is loading indefinitely and does not display any posts. Please advise. Thanks.

  • Hi,
    Your temporary solution doesn’t work either. I have modified .htaccess accordingly, but it doesn’t get the job done, I cannot create or edit the newsletters and I get the same error:

    Request error not JSON:<!DOCTYPE html>
    <html style=”height:100%”>
    <head><title> 403 Forbidden

    Get in touch with your host support and ask them to disable the Apache module mod_Security for your website. This should fix the issue.

    I’ve just installed the latest Mailpoet 2.6.17 on another website and while configuring it, I suddenly got disconnected from the server and couldn’t connect again. Checked and my IP was blocked from the server. It seems the issue is still there? Do we still have to turn off mod_security?

    Yes, that issue won’t be fixed with a new MailPoet release. Since it’s a false positive from the mod_security rules.
