Requesting More Taxonomy Columns

I would like to request more than 2 taxonomy columns when creating or editing an article or page. I have a number of custom taxonomies on one of my sites and most of them have short values which doesn’t play well with 2 columns and a normal to large browser window.

I would also like to control the default number of values displayed in any given taxonomy, as is the case with the primary content field. To clarify i am referring to the hight of the taxonomy list cell. I find that I have to not only scroll down the browsers window to get to a taxonomy list cell, but then I often have to scroll through a long list of values.
