required form ID message

The newsletter form on our site uses the correct form ID but gives the message, “We had trouble processing your submission. Make sure you haven’t changed the required form ID and try again.”
I found a support thread suggesting that I need to change the contact list. There are several which have been set up but changing the list doesn’t help with the error. Is there a setting inside of our Constant contact account that needs to agree with the list in the plugin? Any help would be appreciated.
