• I’ve been working with your plugin (thanks so much for making it) in conjunction with MWB Variation Table. My store requires a Select option to act like a variation and then the Table presented with the standard option for any of the Select options.

For example: SELECT OPTION: Do you want Awesome Artwork Picture A or B printed on your shirt? A|B

Variation Table Rows: Shirt Colors: Red|Black|Purple|Green
Variation Table Columns: Shirt sizes: XS|S|M|L|XL|XXL|XXXL|XXXXL

For those who don’t know: table plugins appear to be hijacking the cart in such a way that it’s very difficult to get any cart oriented Input Field solutions to actually appear on the page. I was finally able to get Product Input Fields to display on the page by selecting the “Do not display” option and inserting the [alg_display_product_input_fields]shortcode (thanks again!) into the php that builds the MWB Variation Table.

I have confirmed that the metadata from my SELECT list does appear in Cart, Emails, and Orders panel as part of the product information.

The only issue I’m having is that it appears to no longer be honoring the “Is required” flag. I know this is a wild shot in the dark and

such a very, very specific use case

but I was wondering if you might have any idea why it’s no longer honoring the requirement?

    Thanks, Jeff.

  • Hi,
First of all, you’re welcome ??

All in all, you are saying the [alg_display_product_input_fields] shortcode isn’t honoring the is required flag right? I’ll take a look at that.

Bu the way, I can’t see the link you provided. If you have to send me some sort of login info I’ll have to ask you to get in touch using our form on WpFactory:

    Pablo,
Yes, in the end it’s just that it isn’t honoring the required flag…and we’re discovering some other oddities when the product doesn’t have variations – if we click on “Add to Cart” from the category page then we go to the product, get the “required” error but there’s no shortcode displayed since it’s not a variable product (I figured I would add the shortcode manually for those but now it all has me thinking that I might need to insert the shortcode somewhere else.

I’m in the middle of our first product import tonight and tomorrow to get something ‘real’ looking. I’ll reach out via the wpfactory.com contact form with login details and more information as I discover it.

    Thanks,

    Jeff

    Ok,

I just tried the shortcode here and it seems to be working even with the required attribute and with no variations.

Maybe it has something to do with the place you are adding the shortcode. I haven’t tested with the MWB Variation Table plugin though.

When you have some time please elaborate it for me.
    See you
