Requires Another Plugin
-
Great comment system, and yes, I have tested it. However, it requires the user to download another plug-in to get the social log-in features. I found this as a terrible move because these other plug-ins could go out of commission at any day, and should that happen, this comment plug-in would be useless.

Hey gVectors Team, thank you for the quick response.
I’m really confused though now when you say my issue “doesn’t have any relation to wpDiscuz.” I downloaded the plugin and Super Socializer to increase options for users to log in and comment with different social logins. Prior to using this plugin, my users couldn’t log in via FB. I used the default WP comment feature that came with my Twenty Fourteen theme. Bare bones, it only allowed users to log in via WP itself or at the least, with just their name. Now with your plugin installed, I’m the only one, as the admin, who is given the option to log in and comment on blogs with a WP log in.
For example, now my users when they want to log in and comment see this:
https://twosmallpotatoes.com/our-einbaukuche-is-finished/#comments
So how do my WordPress users comment and have it connect with their WP blog? There’s no option for them to log in to WP where they’re commenting on my site and even if they log into their WP before coming to my site (I’ve tested this), their WP avatar doesn’t show up. Mine does. Either something’s buggy or I have a setting tweaked.
Rahul,
The use of social login is to allow my readers who happen to belong to a site such as FB or Google+ to more easily comment on my blog by logging into that particular site to which they already belong. The problem is that many of my users don’t belong to any social sharing site and even created a WP log-in only to be able to comment on my site. To remove this option for them now would be frustrating for them.
My apologies gVectors Team, but I should have asked you above for clarification.
Does wpDiscuz and/or SS offer a user the option to login via WordPress, OK, and other social sites or only Facebook, Twitter, and Google+? Because those are the only 3 social websites that offer login to my users with these two plugins installed.
I don’t see why you think people can no more login and register in WordPress? Where are your login and register forms? Put those above comment form or in sidebar and problems will be fixed. wpDiscuz is a comment plugin, it doesn’t have login and register widgets.
Another option is closing guest commenting. if you enable this option https://goo.gl/gPWDzS , wpDiscuz will show a login link above the main comment form. You can try it as well.
I don’t see why you think people can no more login and register in WordPress?
The reason is because I asked one of my users who always has logged in via WP to login and leave a comment with your new plugin and the option for him to leave a comment via his WP account is no longer an option.
Where are your login and register forms?
My site doesn’t require login or registry to leave comments. The primary interest I had in your plugin was that it advertised this feature: “Social Network Login – Facebook, Twitter, Google+, WordPress, VK, OK and others”. But from your comment,
wpDiscuz is a comment plugin
, it sounds like you’re saying your site does not do that, am I correct? Should I perhaps contact the SS support team instead to find out if the issue is with their plugin?
Another option is closing guest commenting. if you enable this option https://goo.gl/gPWDzS , wpDiscuz will show a login link above the main comment form. You can try it as well.
Doing this causes the opposite of what I want. I want it to be easier for users to comment, not harder. If I check that option you suggested, than users have to be registered somewhere before they can comment at all.
You’re wasting your time. This is one of the reason’s why every comment plug-in must have a built-in social log-in feature instead of relying on third-party plug-ins. You want this plug-in to work exactly as advertised? You’re going to have problems and these guys will likely tell you off rather than listen to reason or even try to genuinely help with concerns for that matter..
I recommend the Jetpack Comment system, or Epoch with its social plugin. (social plugin created by Epoch team.) or even Disqus. If you were not aware, it is possible to add WordPress as a long-in option. Just check Disqus support pages and you’ll find out how.
Thank you Vames
You’re always here to say something against wpDiscuz. You’re very kind. The reason is because I asked one of my users who always has logged in via WP to login and leave a comment with your new plugin and the option for him to leave a comment via his WP account is no longer an option.
wpDiscuz doesn’t have any restriction in commenting as a WordPress User.
Please show a registration form or login form on your website. We’ll login and post a comment so you could see that.uninstall ss plugin and install wp social login, it has wordpress social login feature. i think it may help you.
@rahul, Please stop uppercasing your sentences.
Instead of listening to users and make changes to your product where necessary, these are the responses you guys deliver. Man I’m not trying to attack your work, I’m just pointing out flaws and you guys keep turning a blind eye and saying I’m this and that.
Your loss though.
You can use this plugin https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wordpress-social-login in place of super socializer, it has the wordpress login support.
Sorry moderator
@vames
This issue is not related to your case. The case “It’s built-in or it’s not” doesn’t matter with ability to login using WordPress login form. This discussion is not related to your issue.
And yes, if something doesn’t exist right now, it’ll as soon as possible. We’ve never said that wpDiscuz will not have a built-in social login feature. Just patience please… And less negativism…You’ve never said it, but it doesn’t matter because you guys have been championing this out of place system. And negativism? This is reality gVectors Team. You have a product for public consumption, there will be negative views.
Moving on, none of the third-party options are good enough for any serious web admin. Social Login is a big example. Barely sees an update. Last update came after around 2-years of inactivity. The icons are outdated and the design leaves much to be desired. It stands out like a sore thumb on any website.
