Requires Pro (MLPP) for any Utility

I did not fully understand the negative reviews until after trying the plugin. While MLP allows you to upload files to a folder structure of your own choice, it does NOT support anything beyond that of any use whatsoever. That is, you must buy the Pro version (MLPP) in order see the library organized into your folder structure when trying to find media to add to a Post or Page. I’ve decided to use Media Library Assistant (MLA) instead. At first, I shied away from MLA because the description seemed so complex (I’m both a non-coder and new to WordPress). But the MLA alternative is actually very easy to use. I will be donating to that one.

I would urge the authors of this plugin to give it some basic, useful functionality that would let folks like me actually try out something worthwhile before buying. That’s the WordPress way – right? I’ll be you this approach would lead to much increased adoption and then Pro sales. At the very least, you would get higher ratings. Most of the lower ratings I’ve reviewed are exactly because the free plugin provides essentially no utility. Many of the higher ratings are from folks who are clearing using the Pro version.
