• I tried this on two different machines that I admin. In both cases, it rendered the site non-functional. The plugin has a dependency on mod_rewrite and also on mod_access_compat. It won’t work without those two plugins running in Apache. On the last installation, the check “verified” mod_access_compat was loaded when it really wasn’t.

I corresponded with the support people and their response was that “for a NORMAL hosting environment, it works great.”

I can understand that it doesn’t work in a particular environment. However, I think that if the plugin is installed in an environment that it can’t work in, then it should not crash your site to the ground.

If you are not running in “a standard hosting environment”, then I would be extremely careful about selecting this plugin. Also, if you’re developing with a local copy of PHP/WordPress, I would be very careful.

Hmm BPS is built for every type of host server that there is worldwide but the assumption is made that the server is using industry standard setups/configurationas that are used on host worldwide for decades which is the norm. It sounds like your server configuration/setup is not usig standard server configuration or setups and may be customized. We would stil be willing to help you out with your custom server if that is something that you would like to persue. Due to the complex nature of troubleshooting customized servers/ non-idustry stantard servers it is best to do this directly via either access to the custom server or to handle this directly via mail. Please contact us directly if you would like to figure this out: info AT ait-pro Dot com. Thanks.

mod_rewrite has been Available since Apache 1.3 – 1998-06-06 – 18+ years and in enabled as an industry standard setting in all Apache installations for the last 18 years. mod_access_compat is used as a fallback which means that server is incorrectly configured/misonfigured. All Standard Hosting Server have mod_rewrite enabled and when they do not then that is a mistake/server misconfiguration. I can quickly tell you how to correctly configure your server so that is is using an industry standard confirguration that all host servers should be using these days. Please contact us directly if you would like to figure this out: info AT ait-pro Dot com. Thanks.

For anyone else reading this thread, the plugin author of BPS Pro went to my plugin and created a negative review for it.

Let’s keep this friendly and fix this by getting on the same page. You blamed BPS for a problem with your server, which is obviously not a fair thing to do. I will gladly help you get you server configured up to current industry standards.

Now regarding you demo video i will gladly bump up my star rating to a 5 based on your excellent plugin work alone and not base my star rating simply becuase the video demo could have been much clearer/better explained.

Let me know if this works for you. I prefer to keep this as a simple misunderstanding that can be easily fixed. ??

EDIT|UPDATE: I changed this to a 5 star rating because your plugin is well coded. If you feel like reciprocating the star rating change for the BPS plugin then that would be great. Up to you of course. ??

The offer still stands if you would like help configuring your server. In any case, it seems silly to do a “feuding/grudge” type of thing so the 5 star rating is just based on your well coded plugin and nothing other/outside of your plugin. ??

As a follow-up, on 3/7/16, AIT-Pro reversed their 5 star rating back to a one-star rating and revised their review to be even more negative. For the complete Email exchanges leading up to this event, please follow this link:

Nope my review is based solely on your plugin after installing it and testing your plugin. I stated that clearly above. I had not tested your plugin prior to my original post because I could not figure out how to get your plugin setup. I installed it and finally gave up trying to get it to work. So after trying again for a very long time and finally figuring out how to setup your plugin and testing your plugin I found out that it is not a calendar plugin that I would ever choose to use since there are so many better calendar plugins available. My original post had to do with not being able to figure out how to get your plugin working even after watching your video tutorial that seemed to have left out a lot of important setup steps. Same basic principle though – not very intuitive/easy to get this plugin working/setup.

Too funny I should have tested your plugin first and not said anything else and rated it 1 star because your plugin sucks to me. My rating/review will be a 1 star based on that alone and nothing else. So this is the new review/rating that I will be posting in a little, unless of course you want to work something out.
