Requiring approval for product review only applies to 1st time

  • I’m testing out your plug-in WooCommerce and it seems that only the 1st review by any given user required approval. Subsequent reviews by the same test user are posted immediately.

    I have the Discussion settings set up to be most restrictive (so every comments needs to be approved)

    – Comment must be manually approved (checked)
    – Comment author must have a previously approved comment (unchecked)

    In addition, in the WooCommerce -> Settings -> Products section, I have all 3 options checked:

    – Enable product reviews
    – Show verified owner label on reviews
    – Reviews can only be left by “verified owners”

    The first time a verified owner tries to leave a review, the comment needs to be approved. However, all subsequent review (on any product as far as I can tell) are automatically posted.

    The reviews actually show up as “pending” in my dashboard but the are still displayed.

    However, if I deactivate your plug-in, all the pending reviews disappear and the behavior is normal.

    Is there a way to use your plug and have every single review require approval?

    I see that the premium version of your plug-in allows for manual approval of reviews.

    Does that mean that your plug-in overrides the manual approval setting in WooCommerce and auto-approves reviews regardless of the Woocommerce setting?

    Hello there,
    hope you are doing well ??

    By default, all reviews left by users are automatically published, without having to be approved first. However, the admin can edit both title and text of the review, by selecting it in the list shown above. Then, the review can be trashed or unapproved and it will not show on the product page.

    Could you check it and let us know any news, please?

    Hi,

    I wanted to use Woocommerce’s default settings so that all reviews need to be approved before being published. Right now, this is how I have Woocommerce set up based on the settings in Woocommerce.

    If I understand you correctly, does this mean that using your plug-in, I cannot approve all reviews first (unless I get the premium version)?
