Research group website with wordpress. Question

  • Dear community,

    I am a newbie user of wordpress and I have already installed it and everything works for now. However I found some restrictions in the default configuration. I mainly want to create a simple website of my research group with wordpress. These are my questions:

    1- I would like to give to each member of my research group the capacity to modify one page inside the website, i.e, a member log in, as well as upload some .zip files. Is it possible? Do you advice me any plug in?

    2- Is it possible to create a table of publications?

    3- These question is general but also important to me. Do you advice me a plug-in or theme for a research group website (a typical research group has mainly a members page, publications, projects and an “about us” page, as well as a “news” frame)

  • For your question 3. You can easily find a theme at https://www.ads-software.com/extend/themes/ . For those menu, you will need to configure it on your own.

    Thanks a lot Richard for your answer. I have done some research and it seems some research groups use wordpress. However, my main concern is point 1. I would like to be able to define an user profile with the capacity of having/modifying its own blog inside the website.
