    Hi @mikeflanny,

To resend the e gift card email, please follow the steps below:

    1. Go to Payments > Gift Cards in your online Square Dashboard.
    2. From the Overview screen, search for the eGift card sale by entering the gift card number or selecting a timeframe from the date range selector.
    3. Select the transaction and click Resend.
    4. Enter the recipient’s email address and click Resend.

    I hope this helps!

    @mikeflanny

If you send your emails via an SMTP provider (like Brevo) you can usually resend from their admin back end as well. Also if you use WP-SMTP Pro that allows a resend from the WP/WC backend (also provides a lot more email controls than wordpress core, so there are some tools you can look into as well. If you resend from the square backend the email will not have your store’s formatting, content, etc. The other two options would be better IMO

@ckadenge I followed these instructions exactly (payments->gift cards->overview) and found the transaction, but never found a “resend”option. When I click on the order, I see “EGift card 0148” – which is the last 4 of the gift card number but there was no Resend option in the box that pops up on the right. The only thing I can click on is “load” under the Activity heading at the bottom, and that just takes me to the transaction where I can send a receipt of the purchase, but that receipt does not include the gift card number.

    Hey @rgln0011,

It looks like you’ve followed the correct steps to resend the Gift card from the Square dashboard. However, if the “Resend” option is not available, it may be due to the specific settings of your Square account.

Here’s an alternative method you can try (from WooCommerce dashboard):

    1. Go to WooCommerce > Orders in your WordPress dashboard.
    2. Find the order that contains the gift card you want to resend.
    3. Click on the order to view the details.
    4. You should see a “Resend order emails” option on the right side of the screen. Click on this, and select “Gift card email” from the dropdown menu.

If the problem persists, I would recommend reaching out to Square support, as they might be able to assist you further with their platform.

I hope this helps! Please let us know how it goes or if you need further assistance.

@ccolotti, thank you for your suggestion about using an SMTP provider. This can indeed be a good alternative for sending emails with custom formatting and content.

    Cheers!

    @shameemreza

Thanks for the suggestion, looking for a way to do this within WordPress was the first thing I tried, but I do not have the option you describe, there is no Gift Card email option at all. For me, on the right side, I have “Order Options” and in the drop down, this is what I see:

    Choose an action..

Email invoice / order details to customer

    Resend new order notification

    Regenerate download permissions

    ….

So, I did select all 3 options to see if that worked, just under a different name, but it did not. I also checked the Emails tab under the Woocommerce settings to see if one of those email options just needed to be activated, but that was not the case, all emails were currently active. (I also checked to be sure both Woocommerce & Square plugins were up to date, and disconnected and reconnected the Square connection)

I’ll contact Square from here to see if I can make further progress. Just wanted to document what I saw in case it helps others.

I found the answer! To view the Gift Card number, open the order in Woocommerce, look to the right under ORDER NOTES, and there should be the following (I’ve changed the original numbers):

Gift card with number: 1234567891230418 created and activated.

    Hey @rgln0011 ,

Glad you found the answer you were looking for – nice work!

You are absolutely correct – if you need to find the Gift card number it can indeed be found within the Order notes of the particular order:

Let us know if you have any other questions, we’re happy to help.

    Cheers!

Just wanted to add a bit to clarify – I did find out where to see the gift card number, so at least then I can copy/paste that into an email and send that to someone who lost it, but the OP’s question about how to resend the actual gift card email has still yet to be answered, at least for me anyway, neither answer given before actually worked. Hope this gets added as a feature in the future. For now, just super happy I can start selling gift cards as I had tried the paid plugin option before with Woocommerce and found it caused too many issues being tied to a specific email address.

    Hello @rgln0011,

I’m glad to hear you were able to find the gift card number. Your suggestion about resending the actual gift card email is a great idea. It would be great to have you add your ideas as a feature request, which is where developers go to look for future plugin features and improvements.

In the meantime, as you mentioned, you can copy and paste the gift card number into an email and send it to your customer. We understand the convenience of having the ability to resend the gift card email directly from WooCommerce and appreciate your feedback on this.

We’re also pleased to hear that you can now sell gift cards without issues.

Meanwhile, I will mark this thread as resolved. Should you have further inquiries, kindly create a new topic here.

    Thanks!
