I accidentally uploaded the theme index.php to the root directory. Now I am unable to access the site at all, because I deleted the index.php file somehow.

I do not believe that I have made any changes, except that I added a theme, so my question is… Is there a place that I can get the index.php file that should go into the root? – I do not have the wordpress files on my hard drive because I installed it through my hosting company (godaddy)

    Hope this makes sense!!!

duh… just downloaded installation files and uploaded index.php… crisis averted!

    How about this additional kink?

I was following instructions to move “index.php” from the /wordpress/ folder to the /www/ folder. For reasons I could not determine, after adjusting the contents of the index.php folder, I still could not see the front page in www. So, I reinstalled the original index.php into the wordpress folder.

Now, not only does the page not load with themes, but I cannot log into my account!

    Help!

Sorry: so my question was, if I upload installation files once again, won’t that knock out all the modifications I have already made to the template?…

And in any case, why wouldn’t WordPress read the original index.php page correctly?…
