Reset password without link in email

Visit your cPanel account >> PHPMyAdmin >> users >> Choose User >> Edit >> user_pass >> delete hash code >> add new password >> Click Go Button and you are done.

I’m not sure how I can go to my control panel since I’m not logged onto the website.

Is PHPMyAdmin the same as this site?https://www.phpmyadmin.net/home_page/

If it’s not, can you please provide more guidance on retaining the link via email. After reading the forum it seems to be a familiar issue, why is that?

Thanks for the quick reply. I’ve already viewed that link and followed “Through the automatic emailer”.

Do you know of any other options? I tried clicking the “reply” on my email (someone did this in a previous forum) but that didn’t work. I deleted the cache etc.

No, that is the site for info & downloads of the phpmyadmin software. Your hosting company should phpmyadmin (or an alternative database management tool) installed which you should be able to access from your hosting control panel. Contact them for instructions if you cannot locate it.

For these you will need an ftp client (such as filezilla) installed on your computer, and set up to connect to your site files. Your hosting company will be able to advise you of the ftp connection details you will need.

If you do use one of the password reset scripts, remember to remove it as soon as you have performed the reset.
