• I’m very frustrated with the fact that after a standard delete of the sharethis plugin from the plugins menu, I still have sharethis code somewhere on my site that I can’t see. It only shows up on mobile platforms, and before you ask, I have deleted caches, reset my plugins folder, and manually searched for both “sharethis” and “st” code in my site (as best I can; I admit I’m not an expert). This is surprising; I deleted your plugin for a reason, and to have it remain on a very important platform for me is disturbing. Please help me identify and fix this situation!

Brandon, thank you very much for responding. My site is https://www.bbguy.org, and the sharethis semi-transparent bar still shows up across the bottom of my site when viewed on mobile devices.

    Hi Joe,

Thanks for getting back to me, I’d be happy to explain what is happening here.
First, I can confirm that the ShareThis code is not installed on your site anymore.

I went on your website to analyze the code and noticed that it is part of Elegant Themes widget. The confusion is that they are labeling the bar as “Share This” which is making you believe that it is our tool that is still on your website.

Do you know, if by default, if this is the label that is being used when installing their widget?

Please let me know if you have any further questions!

    Best,
    Brandon

Fascinating! Wow, I can’t imagine that is the case, Brandon, since I am using their plugin and it would be surprising for them to label it as something else, but I will check. Thanks for getting back to me.
