    Hello,
Thank you for this beautiful theme, it’s really great. I’m running a website about movies and tv shows, and the square size of the thumbnails doesn’t allow showing the whole poster. I understand the theme has its own thumbnail sizes (and chaging it would need regenrating the whole library’s thumbnails) but i would really appreciate if there was a way i could set the size of thumbnails myself.

Nevermind, i just edited the functions.php and CSS for the desired effect. But it would’ve been better if there was an in-built option to do this.

    Hi there,

Changing the size of the thumbnails in the Pictorico theme isn’t a trivial thing, because of how the theme crops and resizes the images. However, it also isn’t impossible. ?? The short version is that you’d be best off creating a child theme with its own functions.php file that defines a different thumbnail image size, of your choice.

For more detail, I’d recommend reading through designsimply’s overview of what’s needed for changing the featured image sizes in Pictorico here:

Hi! I see we posted our replies at about the same time, so I just saw your comment about editing the functions.php and CSS files. I’d highly recommend creating a child theme instead of directly editing the theme files — otherwise your changes will be lost the next time the theme is updated.

You can find a guide for creating Child Themes here: https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Child_Themes
