Resizing Slider?

  • Hi again, thought Iā€™d give this another go.

    Sorted the content on slider thing out, but it really should read ā€“ ā€˜content over imageā€™ ā€“ instead of ā€˜image over contentā€™.

    Same problem as before with the image widths and heights though ā€“ tried leaving the image width blank but then the image re-racks to the height of the image, meaning that it doesnā€™t fill the screen.

    Or if I leave both fields, width and height both blank, it takes over the whole of the screen, making the slider look rather silly.

    I still reckon that a ā€˜center centerā€™ cropping mechanism, or at least an option to set the maximum slider height is needed here.

    Pity, as this has the makings of a great plugin, but I cannot use it without the slider height, as opposed to the single image height, being able to be re-adjusted to taste.

    Sorry, I’ve disabled and deactivated again, so there is no live page available.

    However, just a couple of points:

    Obviously this is a row carousel, or slider, designed to be used with WP Bakery, but the point remains that NONE of the present plugins, paid or not paid, have this very simple, but extremely necessary feature, in that the height of the carousel, or slider, cannot be adjusted.

    Even WP Bakery itself has problems with row heights, or should I say the content within row heights, until you find out that adding padding to a static image, top and bottom, should rectify any content display problems as regards adding text on top of images.

    Padding though doesn’t seem to work with this plugin, as the set-up is different from that of a WBB row, in that you enter a father module for the slider, then a few slider settings for the sliders, which will then appear in the father module.

    One thing that MIGHT work however, is if the settings within the father module had the height option, be that either through a ‘height of slider’ option, or even dropping back to the aforementioned ‘padding’ option, as at present there are hardly any settings within the father module at all.

    Looking forward to coming back in the future, when I can have a 1400px wide slider, with images of 400px, 700px and 1200px height, that fit snugly into a slider/carousel that can be configured to be 400px high!

    Right then, as per request, I’ve set up THREE sliders using this plugin on a test page.

    TEST PAGE

    Comments are added below each slider as regards width and height settings, and something else surfaced that only becomes apparent when you see the sliders running.

    Hope this helps, and please let me know when you’ve finished with the test page so I can ‘draft’ it.

    Also, an ‘overlay’ feature for the images would be nice!

    Following the email communication, we’ve decided against using this plugin.

    Both this one, and the official one suggested by WPBakery themselves, involve you needing to create new modules instead of applying consecutive images into a row and adjusting the sizes, as per normal.

    As I mentioned earlier, this has the option of being a great plugin, and I would have happily paid for the upgrade if it worked on the lite version, but the first developer that can actually make a row slider, with no need for extra modules, is onto a winner!
