RESOLVED

Hi, I was just wondering why there are so many people asking questions only to get a reply such as "It's not our plugin, try disabling evry single plugin you have and then swap themes" The point is being missed because often the question arises from something in the plugin. Then you read "that didn't work" then "try this code ........" OR "This is outside the scope of our support. I could easily copy paste 3 different possible solutions in 2 minutes becaus I know which terms to seach for. You don't though, which is why you are coming for support, so I'm going to tell you you need to get in touch with your theme developer" then No reply (I wonder what that means? I know if someone had helped me fix a problem on here I would thank them.. maybe that's just me and nobody else ever does that, or maybe i means he person has given up asking for help here) Then. "I haven't heard back from you since yesterday..... RESOLVED" Q- What did you resolve, because you are right, something is resolved? I like WordPress I like Woocommerce I don't like seeing false promises and by answering a question here on is kind of making a promise to genuinely help. I am not a software developere (any more). I used to be, but manufacturing / accounting in house for mid-sized companies... so not at all like building a website. I know that if someone asked me about a probem that did sound related to my plugin, I wouldn't be able to confiently dismiss their converns as unrelated to any of the 1000s of lines of code I had written, each of which has the potential to cause conflicts due to external developments and uprades. This kind of issue puts people off using WP because most people are genuinly clueless about websites. I have freinds who code or manage development teams and they don't have the first clue what hsts means (for example.) Before I decided to buid a webste after the one I bought for cheap got hacked I know absolutely nothing, an it's not hard to learn. It is hard when you keep finding dead ends that don't need to be there. "deactivate every plugin and theme and then test every single theme and alternative plugin, and their permutaions. If that isn't successful, burn your laptop and buy a new one and get a direct dedicated fibre connection from your house to the nearest datacenter" "it definitely can't be our plugin, I can tell by not looking at the problem at all" (sory, but I don't think you need a degree in computer science to see the problem with the logic there) "I have't heard from you in a while (12 hours) so I assume that you found the other plugin causing every problem in your life and my advice has transformed your existence to a state of nirvana, so I'll mark this as resolved to make our stats look better" Unless there has been a clear resolution or an obvious legitimate attempt to help then I think they should be left open. I admit it's difficult to know for sure if that's a true reflection but it's definitely more accurate than "it must be another plugin or theme because our plugin must be perfect and I can tell by not even looking at the problem" Even using the word conflict is dihonest because by doing so they are saying their plugin isn't working with anoter one/theme................ so which one needs to be updated? I'm not trying to cause trouble, I've just been through a lot of diffculties with my website in the early days and answers like that sounded authoritative to people with little knowledge. I generally find when look for answers I get loads of WP forum posts and almost without exception they are closed without resolution, just without any response.
There a heaps better resources for answers that WP forums.
There is a reason for that and in my opinion it needs to change.
Any ideas welcome, I don’t have any, except to try to raise awareness to noobs (we all started knowing nothing whatsoever, didn’t we??)
