Resources and people

Agreed, without resources and people this plugin is no better than the “bookable product”.

In fact, I’m not even really sure how we can use this without the ability to define room types and person types.

Yeah I don’t really understand why its not there, it would only work for a whole house or each room being a single product. which i’m sure most booking situations don’t fit. Ah well i’m sure it will be here soon. I’ll let you know if I find a work around.

Yeah, I opened a ticket with woothemes regarding this issue this is what I was told regarding this issue:

“The accommodation extension does not, at this time, support resources or persons. The extension was built as a minimum viable product to gauge interest. If you would like to see these types of features added, the best thing to do would be to submit these ideas as feature requests to our Bookings Ideas Board. Ideas there are reviewed by our product managers and developers and prioritized according to demand.”

Right, you’d think that would be part of the minimum use aspect, oh well guess not.

I’m not sure woothemes are actually expecting anyone to use bookings for accommodation in a series production environment?

I think it’s more as a development project and it’s pretty obvious why the plugin has been released as open source on the WordPress rep and on Github….

I would agree that it is rather deficient in its lack of capability right now, though obviously these features will come at some point. It’s misleading not to mention the missing resources and people capability that are essential for most people’s needs – I would like to see the author make a point to note that in the product description, so that users are clear.

We’ve been waiting a long time for bookings to actually work for accommodation products, a roadmap and timeline would be good??

Meanwhile, feel free to share your improvement code and maybe we can contribute ??

So did anyone featured a requests to the Bookings Ideas Board for this? I can’t find any, but would definitely vote for it…

Hopefully, this will come in the next release?
