The responsive slider will no longer work on our site, https://oakridgetoday.com, so I have removed it.

It started displaying text and images vertically over the existing content in our main content area, essentially taking all the slider content and spreading it out vertically on top of other content below our slider widget area. It was a mess and made the top half of the site unreadable.

I recently upgraded two plug-ins, but I don’t recall which two. However, the only thing that doesn’t appear to be working properly on our site right now are the custom CSS and Genesis Responsive Slider.

Has anyone else had recent problems with the slider?

Also, does anyone know if it’s compatible with WordPress 3.5? It doesn’t look like it has been upgraded since July.

    Thank you.

  • WordPress 3.5 seems to have killed all responsive sliders. I hope I’m wrong about that, or I hope some of the developers will find a fix.

Please post a thread at https://www.studiopress.com/forums/.

The slider actually works fine with WP 3.5 when it is the only plugin active. Likely you have another plugin with a script issue.

You’re saying that the Genesis Responsive Slider only works when it’s the only plugin active? I’m using the Genesis Simple Edits, Genesis Simple Hooks, and a few others, and it’s not working correctly. Here’s the test site I have set up if you want to look. https://fabuless.newseasondesign.com/

You’ll notice that I’m getting a title and then a border and a semi-transparent area. Any ideas as to why?

I also tried deactivating all other plugins, and the slider still did not function properly.

You have a script error on your site

Unsafe JavaScript attempt to access frame with URL https://fabuless.newseasondesign.com/ from frame with URL https://www.youtube.com/embed/Vej7w-48qNI?rel=0. Domains, protocols and ports must match.

It was actually not working before I embedded that YouTube video. I took the video down, and it’s still not working. You can view it here: https://fabuless.newseasondesign.com/

    Seems to be working now.

Is there a way to have the slider pull the thumbnails instead of just cutting off the images?

Use the regenerate thumbnails plugin to generate correct sized images for the slider.

    Ron Rennick,

The Genesis Responsive Slider started working again on our site a few days after I posted this. I don’t know what the problem was, but it has been resolved.

Also, I updated to WordPress 3.5.1, and the slider is still working. My next step is to update the Genesis Framework to 1.9.1.

    Thank you for your replies.

    John
