    Hi,

Sorry, I’ve tried to find an answer to my question online but I wasn’t able. I understand that with TablePress 3.0 the responsive extension will no longer work. I have a couple of client websites that have this installed but I’m not sure if they are using the features as I didn’t set them up and am not sure where on the site they are. I know “horizontal scrolling” is available in the core plugin and that will continue to work, but where can I find the settings for the responsive extension to see if the tables are using the extra features eg stack and collapse? I’m hoping that I can safely delete the extension and not break something that was in place.

Also, just confirming, TablePress 3.0 still has a free option, it’s just if you want the features that the discontinued extensions provided you either need to upgrade to paid or continue using the older version of TablePress that will no longer update?

    Thanks for your help ??

    Hi!

Thanks for your post and sorry for the trouble!

If the Responsive Tables Extension was used, you will see Shortcode like

    [table id=123 responsive=stack responsive_breakpoint=phone /]

or similar on pages or in posts of the site. A search for “table responsive” on the WordPress pages list should be a quick check to find those (if any).

Simply deactivating/deleting the Extension will not directly break anything, except that tables that use these Shortcode parameters will no longer be responsive.

And yes, TablePress 3.0 will still have a free option, nothing is going to change here. It’s indeed only the Extension that will no longer be compatible, due to necessary technical changes. Upgrading to a premium version (which has the improved versions of these features) or continuing using the retired Extension with TablePress 2.x (without further updates) are your options here.

    Best wishes,
    Tobias
