• Hello,

We have built a new responsive template setup but when we look at it in Internet Explorer 11, the formatting is off and it is not displaying the proper width. In IE 11 the width it too small and it squishes the page elements together.

Does anyone know why the formatting is not being displayed properly in IE 11? It looks great in all other browsers, but I cannot figure out what is going wrong in IE 11.

Any suggestions on how to fix it would be greatly appreciated.

    Many Thanks.

  • This isn’t really a WordPress issue, if you created the theme yourself. It’s more a general CSS question. https://stackoverflow.com might be a better place to ask, but you’ll need to ask specific questions, with code. If you need more general CSS help a more general web development forum might be appropriate.

    Hello,

I know it looks a bit odd. It is a wordpress theme purchased from TemplateMonster. In order to make it work on our existing Sitefinity Content Management System I had to take a snapshot of the WordPress HTML output of the template then overlay it onto the SItefinity system. We asked TemplateMonster to help fix it and they said that they could, then we paid them and then they said that they could not work on it so they refunded the purchase. Now we are still looking for a fix. I have been trying to fix the display problem in Internet Explorer 11 for months now as we really like the template and are hoping that we could make it work with our setup. Still no luck figuring what is causing the problem so I thought that I would reach out to anyone in this forum who might know what the problem is. It looks fine in all browsers except IE 11.

    Many thanks.

First step would be to validate your HTML. Run each page with the issue through the W3C validation tool: https://validator.w3.org

We can help you identify the problems, but we can’t help provide the solution because that would require knowledge of the theme.
