• Hi Philip and everyone,

First of all—I am so grateful for this system, it’s been wonderful.

Just wondering if there’s a responsive version in the works? Now I know that looking at comics on a phone isn’t necessarily the most practical thing—unless the phone is big! I also accept that a responsive presentation may also make it impossible to pinch-zoom.

But could help with a portrait-oriented tablet device. It would also theoretically help with SEO/rankings. Non-responive websites are penalised by Google.

Is it just too complex to make a responsive version of Comic Easel—especially on an ongoing voluntary basis?

I did once try to tinker with the CSS myself and some Media Queries but I got bogged down when I saw the way the column DIVs are styled as ‘inline-tables’ (I think?)

    Anyway, just thought I’d ask.
    Thanks,
    John

  • While we wait to find out if there is a responsive version in the works, I found a a post on someone else’s blog that gives instructions on how to make this responsive. I’ve used it successfully though there is some tinkering I still need to do. Hope this is helpful.

Just to check… was I wrong in thinking that it’s the Comic Easel plug-in that needs to be made responsive. I think now that it’s actually the theme or child-theme of Comic Press that needs to be made responsive.

Yes, it’s the Comic Press that needs to be made responsive. I should have been more clear in my response.

    Hi,
I am sorry I am late resposding to this.
You need to have a responsive theme rather than Comic Easel being responsive. I have several comics which use responsive themes. All Comic Easel does is create a new type of post.
