    Hello,

After adding a language and translating I noticed something weird. Calling all the built in and custom REST API endpoints is much slower – like 4+ seconds. One user notified us and told it’s taking even longer than that. I noticed there’s a 2 month old topic about something similar, but not quite.

    Steps to reproduce:
I haven’t tried this on a clean site yet, but on my site after adding TranslatePress, adding a second language and then calling REST API endpoint it takes much longer than calling the endpoint with TranslatePress disabled.
    For example this endpoint: https://YOUR-SITE-NAME/wp-json/wp/v2/users/me

PS I have tried every other translation plugin and this is the best one. I would love to keep using it once this issue is taken care of.

    Thank you in advance!

    Hi,

Thank you for reporting this. I was able to replicate it and we’ll try and get it fixed as soon as possible.

We are translating endpoints (they are available via /fr/wp-json/etc) so there’s probably something that’s not optimized there.

I’ll open a bug report to investigate this further.

This is fixed in the latest development version of TP and will be part of the next update. So I’m closing this ticket.
