    Hi @digitalnauras,

For more help with restoring a backup from Total Upkeep, please see our tutorial here – https://www.boldgrid.com/support/total-upkeep/restoring-wordpress-backup/

Essentially you need to go to your Total Upkeep > Backups page, click on the backup, and then click “Restore”.

If you have any trouble, be sure to let us know. We’re happy to help further.

    Thanks,
    – Brad

Hello, Brad thank you for your kind reply. under totalupkeep–>settings–>backup, i have this warning: It looks like you don’t have any backups! That’s ok, let’s fix that now. Here’s what we recommend you do:

Create a backup of your site right now by clicking the Backup Site Now button at the top of the page.
After the backup is created, go to your settings page and setup backups so they’re create automatically on a set schedule.

but under my CPANEL, public_html/wp-content/boldgrid_backup_dKHe6s2aiK2f/boldgrid-backup-naurasonline.com-8faf611b-20200907-150220.zip with a size 3.72GB i have this file, shall i download it and upload it to CPANEL and like this my website will be restored? are you sure this is a backup for my website nothing else? so i can go back in time with this file?

    Hi @digitalnauras

I updated our article with some more information on what to do if your backups are missing. You can see that article here: https://www.boldgrid.com/support/total-upkeep/restoring-wordpress-backup/

If for some reason you cannot see that, here are the steps:

If you can see your backups in your File Manager, but they are missing from your WordPress dashboard, the problem may be a conflicting backup id. This is easy to fix, and it simply requires that you rename your backup.

    • Go to Total Upkeep > Backup Archives
    • Click Upload Backup at the top of the page, and then click the help icon next to Have a large file to upload or want to use FTP?. You should see something similar to Your Total Upkeep id is 68c3ddc0. Take note of your backup id, which in this example is 68c3ddc0.
    • Using your File Manager, rename the backup. The only thing you should change in the filename is the backup id. If your old backup id was 12345678, replace it with 68c3ddc0, as in:
      Old: domain-12345678-20200928-130327.zip
      New: domain-68c3ddc0-20200928-130327.zip
    • After this, refresh your Total Upkeep > Backup Archives page. You should now see the backups that were missing.

I also made a video for you showing you how to do this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_OdEjF8OdOk

    I hope this helps.

Hi @digitalnauras, were you able to get this resolved?

    (@digitalnauras)

ACTUALLY NO, because file size exceeded 10GB

    Hi @digitalnauras,

Can you explain more about the 10GB file size exceeded issue? Were you getting an error message – can you share it with us?

actually, the only backup file was existing in my Cpanel from your plugin had a size 3.72gb AND ONCE I decided to restore it in my website, I created a subdomain and upload the related file, it gives me HELLO WORLD! therefore, I was shocked and had to remove the plugin totally and use code guard from CPANEL but I’m afraid even with code guard cant make backup to my website due to the large size right now exceeding 10GB, unfortunately, im reaching a dead end right now !!! ?? if you check my website right now its down also back and frontend: https://www.naurasonline.com in English and Arabic both down!!!

    Hi @digitalnauras

I created a subdomain and upload the related file, it gives me HELLO WORLD!

Just to confirm, you used Total Upkeep to restore your backup but it didn’t restore your site? If so, please share with us a copy of the restoration log. You can find it in Total Upkeep > Tools > Logs. Here’s a video – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sGO9jOS7kLs&start=14&end=55

Also, please be sure you are going through the restoration process. For example, you’re actually clicking the “restore button”, correct? You can find a tutorial on this here – https://www.boldgrid.com/support/total-upkeep/restoring-wordpress-backup/

it didn’t restore my site but I already deleted the plugin, I can’t support you with the logs because I reached a dead end and was so angry and mad about this HELLO WORLD! anyway. I will see what I can do now and get back to you soon.

BAD! Extremely bad!as a matter of fact, I did an upgrade to my hosting plan to VPS server with Hostgator, I did an update for my WordPress to 5.5.1 now, I did an update for the latest version of woocommerce, all my plugins are updated, I enabled Cloudflare but didn’t update the nameservers like they want because I was scared to lose the VPS server, I enabled page caching and did optimize all my images with wp optimize and wp super cache and I am still facing 500 server error while browsing through m website or adding to cart items and proceeding to checkout in both languages English and Arabic, I asked many forums here in woocommerce plugins and others but no one is helping and supporting! I believe you are the only person at least replying. thank you!
