    Hi there,

Apologies in advance if this is a stupid request, I am pretty new to using wordpress (or any other CMS).

I have been working on a wordpress site locally from my computer, offline with no servers, and recently crashed my site by foolishly messing with the code. Made a backup before doing so and can see it has saved but have no idea how to clear the corrupted site and replace it with the back up data. I don’t even know if this is possible or not? Also should mention, I have been using Microsoft WebMatrix as a local server and saved the backup data locally to my computer.

Can anyone give me some advice??

    Cheers

    Hi!
    I’m sorry for late response.

If your website is not working, but you have backup of your site – you can restore backup manually!
    1. Unpack zip archive with backup.
    2. Open folder with unpacked backup and in its descendants find more zip files with name like “BUPxxxxxxxxxxxxx.zip”. All these files you need to unpack in a new folder.
    3. Then in this folder, find and select the desired folders and moved them to the site in the appropriate section.

    Best regards,
