restore database not backed up

  • I have a wordpress website through godaddy. I have been informed that the database is lost but the files are available in godaddy. Is it possible to get the database back. The theme i believe was alyssa. I did an ftp export and import back into godaddy of the files.

    If it is at all possible to get the database back, please let me know.

  • If there’s no backup of the database, then no, it’s gone forever.

    However, your host should* have backups of everything on the account, not just the files, so there’s a chance that they’ll be able to resstore the database if you ask them to.

    * Good hosts do… not all of them.
