• I am trying to restore my database after uploading on to server.

In order to upgraded from version 2.86 – 2.91 I has to create a new data base SQL Vers 5. After creating the data base and uploading my back up files my site was totally screwed up. It appeared to be because I still had the old database on the server and despite entering correct wp config it would’nt recognize it. So I deleted the old database cleared the new database then re-uploaded the files again to the new database. They are all there I can read the posts through php admin but they are not restored the WP site…. Is there some step I am missing to get the posts to restore on My Wp site?

  • I had the same problem – I had to change the theme to the classic theme since I was using a custom one that I accidentally deleted when I upgraded. Now I see my site – I have some work to do to get it back the old way but at least I have something!

I do not want to change my theme though . Do you think you can change and then change back?

Also I did try to use the default theme and that didn’t work. Thanks though for answering I am not getting a lot of help resolving this

Yeah, well I apparently have lost all my photos from my dp when I accidentally deleted my old wp-content file although my db with all my posts is OK. I am trying to figure out if the pics were backed up somewhere when I backed up the db.
