  • I was cleaning ftp accesses in cpanel and inadvertently removed my entire website directory. UpdraftPlus saved me my 7-yr old website but I had to do it manually.

UpdraftPlus seems to have a difficulty restoring the /uploads folder due to its size. So I was able to restore everything except the /uploads folder which I manually downloaded in my PC, unzipped, and upload on a per year basis.

There are still disconnects but I’m lucky enough to have this plugin running.

    Hi,

It appears to be a file permission/ownership issue, meaning UpdraftPlus or WordPress does not have the correct read or write permission to a certain folder or file.

The following article on Smashing Magazine is a good guide as to the file permissions/ownerships that are required for WordPress: https://www.smashingmagazine.com/2014/05/proper-wordpress-filesystem-permissions-ownerships/#file-and-folder-ownership-for-wordpress

Alternatively, you can restore the others.zip via FTP. Just unzip it and upload in the “wp-content” folder and that should fix the problem.

    Kind Regards,

    Hi,

As a workaround, I would suggest to manually restore the “others.zip” via FTP.
To do this, unzip the others.zip and upload the files to “wp-content/” folder.

    Regards,
    Bryle
