    Sorry if this is a dumb question but I have uploaded my localhost dump file to my webspace where I have a fresh WP installation and would like to restore using the uploaded dump file instead of retrieving it from my desktop. Is there a way to do this?

    Second question: my dump file is just over your filesize limit. Can I unzip it, remove some media files and zip it up again?

    Thanks for your help – and for what will be an indispensable plugin.

    Hi chappie,

    At this moment, you can only use the drag and drop functionality.
    However, we are getting other people requesting the same feature as you are – importing a file that is already uploaded on the server. We are already working on such feature but it will take some time before we ship it in the plugin.
    If your connection is a problem, you can use the feedback form to get in contact with our support and one of our agents will be more than happy to do the import for you.
    About the filesize, we put the limit to try and distinguish between small wordpress installs and medium to large size wordpress installs.
    Could you contact our support by sending an email to support at servmask.zendesk.com and we will find a solution for the size of the archive.

    @yani – thank you for your very considerate response which shows a commitment to service and support that I have rarely seen for a free plugin.

    Fortunately, I won’t need to take up your kind offer since I decided to clean up my localhost site by trashing some unused media and old backup files – and the resulting dump file weighed in at well under your limit.

    My site is now up and running for live testing and I’m pleased to report that it looks just the same as it does on my localhost! The only problem I had was that my href and image links weren’t working either in my content or widgets – but it didn’t take long to fix the links (with Search Regex plugin – although it couldn’t fix the widgets so I edited them manually).

    I suspect this was because this was my first attempt at uploading a WP site and I probably entered the wrong settings in your plugin. Would you expect All-in-One to be able to fix up all content and widget URLs without any need to tweak manually afterwards?
