I have installed WordPress on a spare PC and developed a website for our local Computer Club.
To demonstrate the web site I wanted users to be able to view the website on the same LAN. However whilst using the IP address of the PC gave access to the PC file system it did not access WordPress.

Following advice on a forum, in the WordPress Administration Panel I changed the Address (URL) and Site Address (URL) from
https://localhost/~user/wordpress to https://192.168.21.123 where this was the LAN IP address of the spare PC.
After this, I still cannot access WordPress over the LAN, but more seriously I cannot get in to the WordPress admin on the PC either. I realise now that this was an unwise change.

How can I get in WordPress now please?

By editing wp-config and functions.php as per
    https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Changing_The_Site_URL
I have tried reverting to the previous localhost settings https://localhost/~user/wordpress but these had no effect. localhost in my pc browser appears to point to /var/www/html but my wordpress directory is in /user/public_html so perhaps I am entering the wrong addresses?
