Restore locally?

    I installed XAMPP at home on a PC and then WordPress.
    In the backend of this local WordPress I installed the WP-STAGING
    plugin.
    From my live site I’ve made a backup and downloaded it to the PC.
    When I now restore that backup, will it be restored also locally, or will
    it try through my internet connection to restore the live site on the
    remote server which lies quite far away?
