    hi there,

I have problem restoring site from backup. The backup process stops at 50%. I followed some of the recomendations that I found:

    1. Increased the memory and timeout for php
    2. Unzipped files on my machine (no problem there) and then uplouding the files over ftp to the server.

None of these helped. I am trying to run it for the 10th time, but to no avail. Here is the error:

    [2024-05-27 02:51:16][notice]Extracting failed. Error:WPVIVID_PCLZIP_ERR_BAD_FORMAT (-10) : Invalid archive structure
    [2024-05-27 02:51:16][notice]End restore upload error:WPVIVID_PCLZIP_ERR_BAD_FORMAT (-10) : Invalid archive structure

Could this be related to disc space? Any help wpu?d be greatly appreciated.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hello,

You can follow these steps to migrate your site:

    1. Check and free up disk space on both your source and target servers. Ensure that the available disk space is more than twice the size of your website for successful backup and restoration.
    2. Create a new backup of the source site and download it to your desktop. Then, remove the uploaded backup file from the backup list on the target site.
    3. Upload the backup to the wp-content/wpvividbackups directory of the target site using an FTP client or a cPanel file manager. After that, click the “Scan uploaded backups” button on WPvivid to display it in the backup list, then proceed to restore.

    Kind regards.

Thank you for the response. The option 2 is not possible because the site is in the broken state after failed restore. The option 3 I already did as I stated in the original mail. I will try the option 1 and let you know what hjappened.

    Hello @zenitbooks

    You are welcome.

End restore upload error:WPVIVID_PCLZIP_ERR_BAD_FORMAT (-10) : Invalid archive structure

In our experience, the error appears usually because the backup files are corrupted during the backup or transfer process.

You can try to unzip the backup files in your computer to see whether they are broken.

If they can be successfully unzipped, you can upload them via FTP client to the target site (by default to the?wp-content/wpvividbackups?folder) then click the “Scan uploaded backups and received backups” button to display them in the backup list and restore.

If it can not be unzipped, please create a new backup to upload. Before that, free up the disk space of the source site. In general, in order to successfully backup a site, the amount of free disk space on the web server usually needs to be twice the size of the website.

    Kind Regards,

I don’t know if this is real human talking or AI, but anyway, as I stated in the original post I already did all of that and it didn’t help. Thank got for the cpanel and JetBackup5. I was able to restore it from there. That means WPVivid bye bye. Such a waste of time. And please, for your benefit, read the messages don’t just copy answers from the prepared cheat-sheat.

    Hello @zenitbooks

Sorry about the confusion. It’s always real human support.

If you are sure that it’s not a disk issue and still want us to dig deeper, you can send us a debug zip of the destination site to support(at)wpvivid.com. Please also include a link to this thread when you do that to help quickly track the issue.

    All the best,
