• Hi and thank you all for reading this,

I’ve started working on a website that was made by someone else and screwed up by another one (so much that it would take too much time to fix all the errors) thankfully there is an old backup of the website (a zip of “public_html) my question is: how do i restore the backup? knowing that it was made manually through the file manager and not through a plugin.

    Thank you for your time.

Does the backup include a database dump file (probably ending with .sql)?

If not, you can restore the files but not the content of the site. If the problem is with the files, that’s OK, I guess.

So what I’d do is make a full and complete backup of the entire site (including the database), delete the files on the host via FTP, and replace them with the files in the older .zip file.
