I want to restore to an earlier version of my site and in so doing, eradicate some “spammy” links placed in my site on April 4th and later.

I backup frequently but have never done a restore.

I use the Dropbox plugin but use the “Create Local Backup” button instead of the Dropbox button.

Are these full site backups? If I restore to, say, “local backup” from March 28th, will the site then look exactly like it did on March 28th with no further steps required by me? Or are there other steps involved?

I’m fine with recreating posts and pages from March 28th to the present, but want to avoid more complicated, time-consuming work.

    Many many thanks,

    Randall

    Hello Randall,

you can restore your local backup and the site will look like it did on March 28th.

There is no difference in backup data between dropbox and local backups.

The only difference is in backup location. Dropbox backup is saved on Dropbox Account and local backup is saved on webserver.
