    Hi,

We purchased the premium package a couple of weeks ago. Our aim is to backup around 50 websites and then do a wordpress update.

At the moment the back up “seems” to be happening but the restore is failing. I am using site https://www.adloyalty.com.au to back up and restoring to a subdomain of another url.

When restoring it takes me through 3 steps and then goes back to the start. It leaves me with 2 folders and a zip file and the main page has the logo and sidebars but the article is “no results found”. It doesn’t take us through any import of database.

    Zip – wpb2d – simple restore
    folder – wpb2d
    folder – restore

Need some assistance to get this working correctly please

    Regards

    Brett

    Gday mate,

This could be due to database permissions. If simple restore does not work “out of the box” at the moment the best option is to revert to a manual restore.

I will be working on a new plugin to replace simple restore in the coming weeks.

    Cheers,
    Mikey

    Hi Mikey,

Thanks for the reply so quickly. How is the database backed up? I found a folder called “backups” in wp-content with 2 files called ….backup-core.sql and ….backup-plugins.sql. We have only ever manually restored with one sql file. Do your backups get broken into 2?

Also, a bit further on the restore – it isn’t recognising the zip file wpb2b. I had to zip and place in that folder/file – so effectively it ended up looking for : no subfolder: Apps: wpb2b and then a zip within the zip. That’s when it recognised a zip file there and I think (guess) tried to install in wrong level. Hope that makes sense!

    Regards

    Gday Brett,

All backups are broken into two, one for the core WordPress tables and one for any plugins. Just run the core one first then the plugin one.

At the moment restore requires a zip due to the fact that it needs to be downloaded quickly. So all you need to do is create on and add it to your Dropbox.

    Cheers,
    Mikey

    hi,

Sorry about that, but i didn’t manage to post my question in this dedicated section, so you ‘ll find it there about your plugin : https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/wordpress-back-up-to-dropbox-restoring-website-file-configuration?replies=1#post-4496923
