Hi, I am trying to restrict bot traffic from some of my URLs.

Ideally I would like to set up a rule where only humans can access URLs that contain a certain string, such as in “myexample.com/path1/path2” – block bots from accessing URLs containing “/path1/”.

I did not find such functionality in Wordfence – is it possible, or possible with a premium version?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @tablediver,

Detection of a bot is fairly performance-heavy when run on the site itself and is more likely to lead to false-positives than when using cloud-based bot detection.  Wordfence wants to know if bots or humans are behaving in a malicious manner, but generally, being a bot rather than a human visiting a URL isn’t something worth blocking in itself.

That said, we’re always happy to look into the feasibility of changing or adding features based on customer feedback, so I’ve linked this topic to the team for further discussion internally. Unfortunately I can’t provide progress reports or potential release schedules here on the forums.

    Thanks,
    Margaret

Thanks for your answer – my use case is to avoid bot traffic distorting with conversion tracking of certain pages. I am sure there are plenty of other use cases ??

    Best regards

(I might look into other solutions such as reCaptcha or cloudflare in the meantime)

Please let us know if you have any other questions!
