Restrict categories not working When adding new video.

Thank you for using our plugin!
Could you please provide a use-case of when the categories restriction is not working or a url to your site where it’s not working so I could debug the issue?
I just tested with a guest (non-logged in) user and with user role restriction to an administrator and to a subscriber. In all the cases I only had the selected categories available in the dropdown for both a new video creation and an existing video editing.

I have installed WP Video Posts plugin. And I have let any one to register for the site but as a Author (role).

In Settings–>WP Video Posts–>Front End Uploader —->Choose the categories to be available for a user from Front End Uploader (all categories are displayed by default if none is chosen)

under the above option I have selected 2 categories out of my five categories.
But when I logged in as author,I can choose Videos–>Add New Video–>
It still allows me to choose all the categories out of all 5.

But after I published it, only shows allowed categories.

Hi Indi,

Thank you for a quick and detailed response.

Are you using the default front end uploader form with [wpvp_upload_video] shortcode or are you using a back end to create new videos?
The categories filtering works only for the front end uploader with the custom form.

Users will have access to other categories from the back end.
I will look into filtering that too for the future plugin releases.

I am using backend Dashboard Video–>Add New Video feature.
OK Thanx for the info. It will be great if you can come up with solution from backend as well.
