Restrict Content – How Do I Assign 1 Post to Multiple Groups

    Hi there,

    I have 3 different membership types (3 groups), but I want to have the content available to only two of the groups. When I go to post – edit – profilegrid – all logged in users and then try to select both groups, it only selects one group.
    How can I assign two groups or more to be able to read a post or blog?

    Thank you for writing to us.

    You can use the content restriction option?“Members of Author’s Groups” instead of all logged in users. With this option,?users of only those?groups that the post author is member of will be able to view the post.

    Hi there,

    Thank you for getting back to me. I appreciate your time. I really like your plugin, and I’m thinking to buy both premium versions of RegistrationMagic and ProfileGrid, but the content restriction option above does not work for us.

    I tried the “Members of Author’s Groups” but this is problematic for us since our authors are not necessarily paying members, and they might have free members in their groups that we don’t want to have access to a paid for blog. For example.

    So the only option for us as we can see it, is to have only “Logged in Users” to be able to see a post, but if I can only select one membership type at a time, it means only Group 1 can see post. But I have 3-groups of which 2 need to see the same post. Instead, it seems now we need to create two duplicate posts of the same blog, and then assign a group to each post. This will mean we place more strain on our hosting and available space.

    Is there a way you guys can perhaps adapt the funcationality of the Content Restriction to be able to select more than one group for one post?

    Is there some code we can use for this or something for now?

    Hello @mariebsteyn,

    We’ll look into making a post available for multiple groups as an update for this feature later on. Till then, the?“Members of Author’s Groups”?option is the only option you can use without duplicating content. You can publish the post and become members of only those groups whose members you want to access that content.
