Restrict Post Navigation by Current Category

  • I am trying to figure out how I can restrict post navigation in this theme by the current category.

    I know I can edit the function.php file, but I would rather not as this site is managed by many people and if I should leave the project I don’t want to have to have them worry about adjusting this file in the future.

    Any ideas?
