Restrict Product if it itself wasn’t purchased

Is there a chance that you’d like to restrict content in your store for customers who haven’t purchased a specific product? If so, then we recommend using WooCommerce Memberships to achieve this.

So I want to first add a new product on-the-fly, I have code for this. But I would like to also add this product as the product to purchase in order to unlock the descriptions. Sort of like a pay per view.

It is still not entirely clear to us what exactly you are trying to achieve here. Could you perhaps share an example with us together with a detailed explanation about what would you like to happen? For example: “Customers who haven’t purchased this product should see…/Customers who have purchased this product should see…”.

Moreover, if you are trying to achieve something similar to the pay-per-view model, then we think that WooCommerce Memberships is the best solution for that. Did you perhaps have the chance to take a look at this guide: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/woocommerce-memberships-restrict-content/ ? If so, then could you clarify why this won’t work for your case?

No the membership model won’t work.
So if I make 1-off products dynamically. In WC and I want the info and its description to be restricted until that product is purchase by someone. How can I achieve this using your plugin?

For example.
My product title and description will look like:

PRODUCT-0023
Prod Info: <hidden until purchased>
Prod Origin: UK
[Buy Now]

I want to use your plugin to restrict the Prod Info of the product itself. Is this possible?

Thank you for the additional details!

Product Dependencies allows you to create purchase and ownership relationships for products in your store. For example, you can set up rules like this: “It is necessary to first purchase Product A to add Product B to the cart”.

Therefore, it is not possible to use this plugin to conditionally display a product’s short description. Doing a quick search online, we found these plugins that might be better suited for your case:
1. If-So Dynamic Content.
2. WooCommerce Conditional Content.
