Restrict Subsite Access Based on User Role

Hi – thanks for this lifesaving plugin; I’m surprised how few installs there are but lets keep it our little secret…

and speaking of secrets…

Hoping you might help me to understand how we can restrict access to a subsite based on user role.

ie — I’ve got a subsite for Support mysite.com/supportsubsite/

I sell and assign a user role on the mainsite, paidsupportpatron

how can I allow paidsupportpatron user role access to mysite.com/supportsubsite/ and restrict other users from accessing it, or more ideally send them to a landing page telling them nah nah nah..gotta go subscribe… ?

I can’t find an explanation on this and thought this might be the place for enlightenment
