• Hi,

Is there any way/ideas of how to, on login, restrict the available posts for editing in the dashboard to be *only* the posts which that author can edit?

    Thanks

    Tony

  • See if the plugin Manage Your Posts Only will work for you. Here is the official plugin description:

Makes it so normal users can see only their posts and drafts from the manage posts screen. Great for multi-user blogs where you want users to only see posts that they have created. WordPress already makes it so they cannot edit the posts, but still allows them to see the titles. This can get annoying to find your posts mixed in with thousands of others.

As a followup to my previous post, that plugin doesn’t change a user’s capabilities, it simply masks any posts not authored by them in the dashboard’s Edit Post screen.

If you’re looking to actually adjust user capabilities or roles, you’d need to go for one or more plugins like Role Manager, Role Scoper, etc.

Is there a link to that plugin, Manage Your Posts Only? Thanks

FYI, unfortunately, I don’t believe the plugin extends the same functionality to the Comments page in the Dashboard. Though I’d appreciate if the coders among us could assess how easy it would be to add that to the functionality.
